The October 30, 2026 puzzle ran from a golden retriever at 94 cm to a blue whale at 25 m — about 27× apart, drawing on animals. The pair furthest apart was round 4: an adult giraffe is 2.9× as big as a refrigerator.
Answer: Bald Eagle Wingspan — 2.1 m. A bald eagle wingspan measures 2.1 m (length / span), which is about 1.1× smaller than the reference, an adult horse at 2.4 m.
A large bald eagle can spread its wings more than two metres wide.
Common miss: players tend to inflate a bald eagle wingspan when it sits beside an adult horse — big things get squeezed, small familiar things get stretched.
Answer: Golden Retriever — 94 cm. A golden retriever measures 94 cm (length / span), which is 1.1× as big as the reference, a baseball bat at 86 cm.
An adult Golden Retriever is close to a metre from nose to rump.
Common miss: players tend to compress a golden retriever when it sits beside a baseball bat — big things get squeezed, small familiar things get stretched.
Answer: Blue Whale — 25 m. A blue whale measures 25 m (length / span), which is 1.1× as big as the reference, a Brachiosaurus at 22 m.
A blue whale can be longer than a basketball court.
Common miss: players tend to compress a blue whale when it sits beside a Brachiosaurus — big things get squeezed, small familiar things get stretched.
Answer: Adult Giraffe — 5.2 m. An adult giraffe measures 5.2 m (height), which is 2.9× as big as the reference, a refrigerator at 1.8 m.
Adult giraffes commonly stand between 4.5 and 5.5 metres tall.
Common miss: players tend to compress an adult giraffe when it sits beside a refrigerator — big things get squeezed, small familiar things get stretched.
Answer: Adult Orca — 7.5 m. An adult orca measures 7.5 m (length / span), which is 1.3× as big as the reference, an American pickup truck at 5.9 m.
Adult male orcas can grow beyond eight metres.
